Stainless Steel 304H Blind Flanges is resistant to sulphuric acid concentrations up to five percent at temperatures as high as 120 Degree f (49 Degree c) at temperatures under 100 Degree f (38 Degree c). Stainless Steel UNS S30403 Socket Weld Flanges has excellent resistance to solutions of higher concentration. Stainless Steel 304L Lap Joint Flanges are slightly improved corrosion resistance over other alloys of stainless steel in strongly oxidizing environments as a result of the addition of columbium (niobium) and tantalum. SS 304H Ring Joint Type Flanges does not perform well in chloride solutions, even in small concentrations, or in sulphuric acid. The machinability of Stainless Steel 304L Spectacle Blind Flanges is difficult as it work-hardens during machining.
